BANGALORE (Reuters) - U.S. retailer Costco Wholesale Corp posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit as sales and traffic grew at its U.S. stores and the weakening dollar helped sales overseas.

BEIJING (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar will be a safe investment for the next six to 12 months because global markets are focused on the euro zone's troubles but America's fiscal health is worse than Europe's, an adviser to the Chinese central bank said on Wednesday.

Fannie, Freddie in talks with government on mortgages: report

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are in discussions with U.S. government officials to join government programs aimed at reducing mortgage balances where borrowers owe more than the values of their homes, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday citing people familiar with the situation.
