He told Andina news agency that at present there are no reports of emergencies inside the complex, and that so far the only issue is the big increase in the levels of the Vilcanota river, which runs at the feet of the mountain where Machu Picchu is located. He also pointed out that Machu Picchu has undergone previous prevention works, and that is being constantly monitored to prevent any damage caused by the rains.
