Report shows U.S. healthcare spending growth slows

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. healthcare spending rose at the lowest rate on record in 2008 due to the recession, but still reached $2.3 trillion and devoured 16.2 percent of the U.S. economy, government analysts said in a report on Tuesday.

Jordanian with Qaeda ties killed CIA workers: report

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The suicide bomber who killed seven CIA officers at a U.S. base in Afghanistan last week was an al Qaeda double-agent from Jordan, NBC News reported on Monday, citing unnamed Western intelligence officials.

Iran renews execution threat against protesters

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's interior minister warned opposition activists on Tuesday they risk execution as enemies of God if they continue anti-government demonstrations, and the foreign ministry said arrested foreigners face punishment.

Israel to build more homes in East Jerusalem
