Not confirmed information! Description: Emergency crews were on the scene of a small plane crash near a rural Northern California airport. A spokesman for the state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says crews responded to a crash of a single-engine plane around 7:20 p.m. Friday just outside the Pine Mountain Lake Airport, a small airport near the community of Groveland. Preliminary information from the Federal Aviation Administration says a Piper Saratoga crashed and was destroyed by impact and fire. FAA officials believe two people were on board, with the plane heading from San Carlos to Pine Mountain Lake Airport. A local newspaper, the Union Democrat, reports the plane crashed into a fenced area near a house. Pieces of the plane were strewn across the property, but residents inside the home were not injured. Groveland is about 25 miles south of Yosemite National Park.
