Situation Update No. 5 On 2010-04-03 at 03:09:49 [UTC] Event: Flood Warning Location: USA State of Rhode Island Rhode Island-wide Situation: The Federal “Major Disaster Declaration” is now extended to Bristol County. President Obama has approved the request to amend the "major disaster declaration" to include Bristol County; with this approval, the Disaster Declaration is in effect for all counties in Rhode Island. FEMA teams worked throughout the past two days to assess the damage in Bristol County to reach the required threshold of damage for the declaration. FEMA response teams have been on the ground, working around the clock to assess the damage and to register Rhode Islanders who have been affected by the severe storms and flooding. All Rhode Islanders and businesses who experienced damages and losses from the recent severe storms and flooding are eligible to register with the FEMA, regardless of whether or not their property is located in a designated flood plain. | | | |
