NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock index futures rose on Monday as investors shrugged off last week's dismal employment data and shifted focus to technology shares, including Hewlett-Packard Co after its chief executive resigned.

Accuser of ex-HP CEO Hurd steps forward

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The female contractor whose sexual harassment accusation against Mark Hurd led to his ouster as chief executive of Hewlett-Packard came forward on Sunday, saying she never intended for Hurd to lose his job.

BP says oil spill costs hit $6.1 billion

LONDON (Reuters) - BP said the cost of dealing with its ruptured oil well in the Gulf of Mexico has risen to $6.1 billion, including $319 million in compensation payments to businesses and individuals affected by the spill.

BANGALORE (Reuters) - Foodmaker Sara Lee Corp's Chief Executive Brenda Barnes will step down permanently as CEO and chairman after being on a medical leave since May and the company said it has started a search for her successor.
