NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock index futures rose on Thursday on strong corporate earnings, including Caterpillar, a weaker U.S. dollar and reassuring data from China.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Caterpillar Inc reported stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings on Thursday and raised its full-year forecast, citing especially strong demand for its construction and mining equipment in the developing world.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp said on Thursday it would repair 1.66 million Avalon and other vehicles, mostly in Japan and the United States, in the latest large-scale recall to plague the world's biggest automaker.
