Situation Update No. 1 Posted:2010-01-02, 06:11:59 [UTC] Ref.no.: VI-20100102-24386-IND Situation Update No. 1 On 2010-01-02 at 12:29:45 [UTC] Event: Vehicle Accident Location: India State of Uttar Pradesh Kanpur Number of Deads: 4 person(s) Number of Injured: 40 person(s) Situation: In Kanpur at Panki Railway Station the Gorakhdham Express collided with the Delhi-Allahabad stationary Prayagraj Express at 9‘o’clock IST. About 40 persons injured & 4 persons killed due to thick fog. Early on Saturday there was the dense fog near Kanpur. North Central Railway’s PRO Amit Malviya said that the Prayagraj Express was at railway station when the Bhiwani-Gorakhpur Gorakhdham Express stroked it from behind. Murli Manohar Joshi-the senior leader of BJP was traveling on the Prayagraj Express to Allahabad. He was not got injured. There was another train accident near Etawah. The Licchavi Express collided with the Delhi-Islampur Magadh Express at Etawah (Sarai Bhopat) at around 8‘o’clock IST. The Licchavi Express driver was injured seriously.
