Description: Twelve people have been saved in separate rescues in central west NSW after heavy rainfall caused local flooding. Four people, believed to be contractors, had to be airlifted from a property in White Cliff on Sunday evening, a spokeswoman for the State Emergency Services (SES)said. In a separate incident in White Cliff, five people, including one child, were rescued after flood water entered their home. Earlier in the day, a canoeist was rescued after deciding to go canoeing in flood waters in Bungendore. Two motorists were rescued in incidents in Forbes and Captains Flat when they got trapped in flood water. "We are urging people not to enter flood waters intentionally under any circumstances," SES spokesman Phil Campbell said. "Deliberate entry to flood waters is the single biggest killer in these situations." Conditions are expected to ease in the region overnight with the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) cancelling its flood warning for the central west and northwest regions. "There has been some heavy rainfalls and some river rises but we don't expect any flash flooding overnight," a BoM spokesman said. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in the south of the state and a severe weather warning is in place for the southern Tablelands and south coast regions Forbes received the heaviest rainfall in the state, with 58 ml falling from 9am on Sunday. The SES received about 300 calls for assistance throughout the day, mainly in connection with leaking roofs and overflowing gutters. A total of 1475 calls were received from Friday afternoon to Sunday.
