Event: Biological Hazard
Location: Australia State of Queensland Mackay Harbour Beach

Situation:

Lifeguards have netted another 30 box jellyfish at Mackay Harbour Beach. The discovery comes a day after a record 26 were caught in nets at the popular swimming spot. Mackay lifeguard supervisor Paul Barker said about eight stingers were also found washed-up at Blacks Beach and Far Beach this morning. Mr Barker warned beachgoers not to enter the water. “People better make sure that if they do go swimming that the red and yellow flags are out,” he said. “They then need to ask the lifeguards about what is going on out in the water.” Mr Barker said lifeguards would do another drag at Mackay Harbour Beach tomorrow morning to determine whether it was safe to re-open.
