An Aneurin Bevan Health Board spokesperson said: "We are currently investigating eight cases of salmonella in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. The cases are being investigated by Aneurin Bevan Health Board, Public Health Wales and Newport City Council, Environmental Health.
