Description: Scores of flights were canceled Tuesday as the second winter storm in as many weeks coated parts of Texas in snow. Flurries even sprinkled cities as far south as Austin and San Antonio. Police in El Paso said a woman was struck and killed by a Jeep Cherokee as she stopped to pull someone from the wreckage of another accident. The driver of the Jeep lost control due to the slick roads, said police spokesman Michael Baranyay. "She was doing something good," Baranyay said. "She was a good Samaritan. This lady died being a hero. It's unfortunate." Her name was not immediately released. The National Weather Service said by Tuesday afternoon snow was recorded in Abilene, Arlington, Corsicana, Fort Worth, Gatesville, Hillsboro, San Angelo, Tyler and Waco. American Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner said more than 100 flights were canceled Tuesday at its main hub, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. All flights were canceled Tuesday at San Angelo Regional Airport-Mathis Field due to snow on the runways, said airport director Luis Elguezabal. Also, Texas Tech University in Lubbock started classes late Tuesday due to weather.
