WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet on Tuesday seeking to show they have turned the page on an unusually rocky period in relations between Washington and its close ally.

BP shares rise as company says no plan to issue stock

LONDON (Reuters) - BP ruled out a share issue and talk persisted of sovereign wealth fund interest in the British oil major, boosting its shares on Tuesday even as its Gulf of Mexico oil slick spread to the Texas coast.

MINGORA, Pakistan (Reuters) - Pakistani forces killed 23 militants early on Tuesday in fighting that erupted after insurgents fired on troops during a search operation in the country's northwest, police and intelligence officials said.

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - Tests on a supertanker adapted to skim large quantities of oily water from the surface of the Gulf of Mexico are inconclusive because of high seas, ship owner TMT Shipping Offshore said on Monday.

Sri Lanka hardliners protest U.N. war crimes probe
