WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Americans are eager to hear President Barack Obama address the U.S. economy and federal deficit in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, with more than half still convinced the nation is in a recession, a poll released on Monday found.
Police shoot and kill gunman at Delaware courthouse
(Reuters) - A man who fired a weapon at a courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware on Monday was shot and killed by police who returned fire, state police said.
U.S. Northeast digs out from blizzard, tornado strikes in South

TUPELO, Mississippi (Reuters) - A swarm of tornadoes tore through several counties in southern Mississippi and Alabama on Sunday, injuring at least 10 people and ripping apart hundreds of homes and other buildings, including parts of the University of Southern Mississippi, authorities said.
