Description:

A high alert has been sounded in Bardiya to prevent the entry of avian influenza in the district. Senior livestock development officer at the district livestock services office Krishna Kant Neupane said the office has mobilized staff in the Rajapur area which shares border with Kailali district to prevent the entry of bird flu from Kailali where the disease has been detected. He said the staff have been working for the awareness of people against the entry of the disease as well as keeping the records of birds and bird products at Daulatpur, Bankatti, Shakti and Bankasawa area which are the major entry points into Rajapur of Bardiya from Tikapur of Kailali. Likewise, the district administration office has directed security personnel to monitor the entry of birds and bird products from India. The district quarantine office has seized a vehicle carrying unquarantined chicks from India.
