McCain wins Arizona primary, Meek victorious in Florida

MIAMI (Reuters) - Representative Kendrick Meek won Florida's Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday and will square off against Governor Charlie Crist and conservative Republican Marco Rubio in the closely watched November 2 election.

Carter on way to North Korea to free US prisoner-report

SEOUL (Reuters) - Former President Jimmy Carter has left the United States and is en route to North Korea on a mission to win the release of an American being held prisoner there, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said on Wednesday.

Madoff judge asks Gibraltar to hand over $73.1 million

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The judge overseeing the liquidation of Bernard Madoff's investment firm has asked Gibraltar's supreme court to transfer $73.1 million so it may be used to compensate victims of the imprisoned Ponzi schemer.
