Description: Torrential downpours last night (Tuesday) brought flooding misery to homes and roads across the Isle of Wight. Firefighters were called to pump water out of a home in Fern Hill, Wootton, and crews also attended a property in Carisbrooke High Street, where heavy rain flooded a garden. The rain also caused problems along Calbourne Road, which was closed until 2.30am while staff from the Isle of Wight Council’s highways department dealt with a flood. Other roads affected by flooding were Fairlee Road, Newport, East Cowes Road and Forest Road, Newport.
