Gov. Beverly Perdue told a media briefing on Sunday that a pedestrian was killed in Wayne County on Saturday night when he was struck by a snow plow. Police in Goldsboro said the accident occurred on U.S. 70. Perdue said the other victim was a Surry County resident who suffered an apparent heart attack after shoveling snow on Saturday morning at his home near Dobson. And in Charlotte, authorities say a man died after shoveling snow near his home on Sunday afternoon. Police in Gastonia say a 55-year-old man died Saturday night after falling in the snow while taking a nighttime walk in a wooded area near his home.
