Description:

West Virginia Governor declares State of Emergency: The winter storm has bought deep snow across West Virginia forcing roadways to close in the Southern and Central part of West Virginia. Joe Manchin the Governor west Virginia has decalred a State of Emergency. The Governor has authorized the National Guards to assist snow removal and emergency operations. The Governor said that the state is doing everything possible to assist people who are stranded across roadways and to help in restoring power. However snow continues to accumulate as the storm moves across West Virginia. The National Guards have provided resources to tackle adverse situations across the state. The highways crews are augmented by support from State and local emergency management officials. The road crews are working round the clock helping emergency crews and first reponders to get where they are needed. Emergency Operations Plan has been activated by the Governor. State of Emergency allows the Governor to direct special resources to affected areas. For the next 30 days the State of Emergency would be in effect unless reconsidered.
