Description: A woman is in a serious condition after being bitten by a shark in the Whitsundays in north Queensland. A rescue helicopter is on its way to Hamilton Island where it will pick up the 60-year-old woman who has lost several litres of blood. Initial reports suggest the woman was dragged under the water by a shark. A Department of Community Services spokeswoman says the woman has severe lacerations to her buttocks. A spokesman for CQ Rescue says the CQ Rescue helicopter was called out from Mackay shortly before 1:30 pm (AEST). He says there are few details available, but the woman will most likely be airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital.
