Description: Police say a snow avalanche in northwest Pakistan has killed at least 19 people. Police official Naqeebullah Khan says heavy snows hit four homes in a remote village of Kohistan district. Another 18 people were missing after the avalanche Wednesday. During winter, snow regularly triggers avalanches in various parts of Pakistan. In May 2009, a total of 24 people died when an avalanche hit a village in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir.
