The flooding hit the capital in peak hour, where residents struggled to make their way home from work. Police had to use canoes to assist residents at intersections and some authorities used rope to guide pedestrians through thigh-high water. Electricity was cut to certain areas of the city over safety concerns. Heavy rain is expected to continue over the weekend.
