A bus slammed into two trucks on an Austrian highway, killing six people and injuring 37 others, authorities said Monday. The accident occurred around midnight Sunday near the township of Heiligenkreuz, police in Lower Austria province said. Police official Willy Konrath said 20 people were badly hurt while 17 suffered minor injuries. An investigation is under way to identify the dead and determine what caused the collision, he added. Austrian media reported that the bus was carrying passengers from Kosovo and was en route to Germany. But police could only confirm that the bus had a German license plate and that the trucks involved were from Romania and Slovakia. The injured were taken to hospitals in the area.
