Description:

At least two Iranian pilgrims have been killed and 35 others injured after their coach overturned near the Syrian capital Damascus. "The accident took place at 9:00 a.m. due to slippery road conditions when the bus was returning to Iran," said Masoud Akhavan, an official of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, on Saturday. "Unfortunately, two Iranians named Hossein Mirzaei and Sorour Abbasi lost their lives and 35 others were injured," he added. According to Akhavan, the injured Iranians have been sent to a Damascus hospital for treatment. "None of the Iranian pilgrims are in a critical condition but some of them need operations," he further explained. In a similar incident two months ago, a bus carrying pilgrims veered off the road near the Syrian capital, Damascus, leaving four Iranian nationals dead.
