Location: Argentina Distrito Federal Buenos Aires

Situation:

2.75 inches of rainfall fell in just over an hour, floods were reported in several areas of Buenos Aires City and some areas experienced electric difficulties. Buenos Aires province also saw heavy rainfall and the sleet fell in the western areas. Eleven provinces are under a heavy storm alert. In Buenos Aires City, transport authorities have issued alerts for traffic safety after the visibility on roads, avenues and highways was highly compromised.The National Meteorological Service released an orange alert for Buenos Aires city and the Northern and Center areas of Buenos Aires due to the strong storms that lashed the area. New floods are feared in several neighborhoods. The SMN service also released a report to state that the amount of fallen water this February shows a record as regards this month, amounting to 402,6 millimeters. A spokesman belonging to the National Meteorological Service pointed out that this figure breaks a previous record, of the year 2003 and thanks to today's storms, the records was broken. The weather alert also covers areas such as Entre Ríos, La Pampa, Córdoba, Mendoza, San Luis and Santa Fe provinces. The agency forecasts new rainfalls for tomorrow.
