Description:

At least 11 people are dead and 18 injured after a bus plunged into the sea in Venezuela. Adolfredo Alpino, a health official in eastern Sucre state, told state television the bus veered off the road and fell into the sea as it tried to avoid a car that crossed into its lane. He said at least 11 were killed. Video footage showed rescue workers and local people pulling one injured person onto a boat. Some swam in the water helping to look for survivors. There was no sign of the bus, which disappeared underwater. The bus went off the road where a steep slope leads down to the Caribbean Sea. Alpino said there were 30 people on board, and that at least 18 were injured, three seriously.
