Description: Eleven people were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a minibus taxi on the N2 between Mthatha and Qumbu, Eastern Cape traffic officials said. Arrive Alive spokesman Tshepo Machea said five passengers from the taxi survived and 11 died on the scene. The bus driver was the only person injured from the bus. "The road is straight, therefore fatigue may have been the cause of the accident," said Machea. The taxi was travelling from Port Elizabeth and the bus was travelling from the North West province to Mthatha when the accident occurred at around 5am. Part of the road was closed while emergency workers cleared the scene.
