Description: Hail associated with a storm that blew through Jacksonville pounded the city Wednesday afternoon as seen in this photo with the Tomato Bowl in the background. The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a tornado warning for northern Cherokee County until 2:45 p.m. This includes the city of Jacksonville. The NWS meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado six miles northwest of Maydelle, or 11 miles southwest of Jacksonville, moving northeast at 30 mph. Other locations in the warning include, but are not limited to, Reese, Mount Selman, Mixon, Bullard and Troup.
