Description: A five-story apartment building collapsed following an explosion early Wednesday that injured at least 20 people, two of them critically, officials said. Rescue workers searched the rubble of the downtown apartment block in Liege, in eastern Belgium. The blast occurred just before 2 a.m. (0200 GMT), Mayor Willy Demeyer told VRT radio network. He said several people were trapped in the rubble and that firemen have located at least two who were still alive. "Firemen are working to try to bring them out," he said. Demeyer said the blast started a fire in an adjacent building. In all, 50 people were evacuated. The nighttime blast shattered windows in the city hall, 100 meters (yards) away.
