Description:

Houses were flooded and roofs torn off, trees were uprooted and powerlines were demolished to the ground when a severe storm struck Odendaalsrus. Thousands of rands of damage was done. Experts say it was just a very strong whirlwind and not a tornado as some people thought not. Meanwhile the rain, which has fallen more than a week in the Goldfields and Northern Free State fall, causing flooding in and around many spots occur. MELODING Streets in Virginia is the second time in a week turned into rivers, and flooding in Kutluanong in Odendaalsrus, Thabong in Welkom, Kroonstad and at Legaspi, all the dams overflowing, occurred. Emergency and disaster management had to help homeless people.
