Description: Rain and wind storms are causing problems for more than 20,000 SMUD customers currently in the dark. More than 260 areas of Sacramento are affected by the outages. SMUD customers in the Arden, North Highlands, Rancho Cordova and East Sacramento areas have been hardest hit by the power outage. Earlier in the day, more than 40,000 SMUD customers were in the dark as high winds and torrential rain contributed to problems with utility equipment. PG&E is reporting a large power outage affecting an unknown amount of customers in Woodland.
