Description:

At least two persons have been killed and nearly 30 others injured when a passenger bus heading for Tonyai village from Senapati district headquarter lost its control and plunged into a 15-feet deep gorge on Thursday afternoon in Senapati district. The deceased has been identified as Manchi (17). She was said to be a XII standard student of Don Bosco High School Maram in Senapati district. However, the identity of the other deceased person is yet to be established. Among the 30 injured, 10 are reportedly in a critical condition and they have been admitted in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal. The remaining injured victims are being admitted at the Assam Rifles hospital, Senapati district. The incident occurred when the driver of the passenger bus, Upland Travels lost its control while heading for Tonyai from Senapati. The incident occurred before reaching Makhan bridge. Meanwhile, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) has condoled the death of two persons in the accident and wishes for speedy recovery of the injured people.
