Situation Update No. 2 On 2010-01-11 at 10:09:11 [UTC] Event: Complex Emergency Location: France Statewide Situation: METEO France has lifted its severe weather warning for the whole of the country, but travel conditions could remain difficult for some days as roads remain icy. Snowfall in Brittany, Normandy, the Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes is expected to stop this afternoon and will be replaced in some areas by rain. The Centre National d'Information Routière is urging drivers to take extra care on the roads while the snow thaws. There are no school buses running today in the Ain, Cantal, Drôme, Lot-et-Garonne, Corrèze and most of the Midi-Pyrénées. Some 850 passengers - including several hundred Britons - had to spend Saturday night sleeping on Croix Rouge camp beds in Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport after their flights were delayed.
