2010-04-12 02:56:43 - Extreme Weather - USA EDIS CODE: ST-20100412-25652-USA Date & Time: 2010-04-12 02:56:43 [UTC] Area: USA, State of California, San Luis Obispo area, Damage level: Moderate (Level 2) Not confirmed information! Description: A strong storm system has entered the Southern California coastal regions. This storm system is dropping heavy rainfall over the Vandenberg to San Luis Obispo zones. The National Weather Service has yet to fulfill the obligation to issue a flood watch product for the area. However, the Southern California Weather Authority has had one for over a day now to get the public better informed. The SCWXA Flood Warning is to warn the burn area residents that heavy rainfall is coming from this storm system. The flood warning is in effect through Monday as additional convective showers and thunderstorms will be possible, bringing isolated spots of heavy rainfall that would only bring more flood concerns. The storm system has prompted the SCWXA to issue winter and wind products. The snow level will remain around 6,000 feet, dropping to 5,500 feet on Monday. Gusty winds will accompany the snow level so blizzard like conditions are certainly possible in some spots.
