Description:

Winds to 70 mph and hail up to the size of silver dollars were reported Sunday about 8:40 p.m. just south of Waukomis. Waukomis Fire Chief Clarence Maly said part of a barn was blown down on a farm southeast of Waukomis, and up to quarter-size hail was reported in Waukomis, along with heavy rain. Garfield County Emergency Management Director Mike Honigsberg also said some street signs and tree limbs were blown down in Waukomis. Additionally, he said Vance Air Force Base reported hail up to the size of half dollars on the south side of the base during the severe thunderstorm. Power lines and a pole were reported down two and one-half miles north of Covington on Oklahoma 74. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 9:55 p.m. for southern Garfield County and northern Kingfisher County as severe thunderstorms moved through the area.
