Description: At least 1,526 cases of malaria that claimed 10 lives were reported from January to February 2010 at municipal hospital of Ambaca, northern province of Kwanza Norte, informed on Tuesday the director of the institution, Álvaro Zita Viegas. Speaking to Angop the source said that malaria is the main cause of internments followed by diarrhoeas with 567 cases, respiratory disease with 566 cases and 77 cases of typhoid fever. The official explained that between January and February were done 1,867 external consultations, 759 in medicine, 660 in paediatrics, 339 in obstetrics, 91 in orthopaedics and 13 in childcare and gynaecology. Municipal hospital of Ambaca has 58 beds, 4 doctors and 28 nurses.
