Heavy rains that continue to saturate southern New Hampshire has prompted the closure of dozens of state and local roads and the closure of some schools. The New Hampshire Emergency Operations Center says 54 roads were closed shortly before midnight. While the rain is starting to slow, officials say rivers and streams will continue to rise for some time before beginning to recede. The National Weather Service says flood warnings remain in effect for all of southern New Hampshire as well as other coastal areas. Meanwhile, the flooding has prompted at least 11 schools to close for the day or delay their openings.
