Medical officer of health Doctor Jonathan Jarman says there have been about 30 cases in the Hokianga region over the last several weeks, and five cases have been confirmed by lab tests. Jarman says measles has the potential to make children very sick for up to two weeks, with symptoms including a high fever and a rash.
