Some 300 people in Charleville have been evacuated to the town's showgrounds and residents in a nursing home have been taken to the hospital on Tuesday, the ABC reports. Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts says more SES workers, a team of Red Cross volunteers, heavy duty pumps and a helicopter are being sent to Charleville. The localised flooding is being caused by waters rising in Bradley's Gully. In Roma, five people have had to leave their homes due to rapidly rising floodwaters. State emergency services have also responded to 37 calls in Brisbane and about 20 on the Gold Coast as a result of heavy rains.
