Description: Since early this morning there have been occurring moderate coastal flooding in low North-west coastal areas including the Havana Malecon (seawall), which is corroborated by the reports received. These areas are: Playa Municipality in Santa Fe, from La Puntilla to 3rd Avenue, on the stretch from Jaimanitas- Nautico from Marina Hemingway to the first Farallon, behind La Cecilia and from La Puntilla to the back of the National Aquarium. In the Plaza municipality: All Malecón to 7th Avenue, extending to Linea and N streets. In Central Havana: All Malecon from San Lázaro and Marina, to Prado and Genio corner. In Old Havana municipality: From Prado and Genio to La Punta castle. In Habana del Este municipality: In Guanabo up to First Avenue. Coastal flooding will continue to occur during the afternoon gradually decreasing from night fall. Coastal flooding have occurred due to tidal waves generated in the north western coast of Cuba, following the entry yesterday morning of the cold front number 21 of the current winter season, associated with an intense extra tropical low pressure center that has moved from the northern Gulf of Mexico, followed by the influence of high continental pressures with Northwest sustained winds of 30-45 km / h and gusts that reached 72 mph in the Casablanca Meteorological Station in this city.
