Description: Twelve people, mostly students, were hurt in a "pillbox bomb" explosion near the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila on Wednesday. Five of the injured people - Chester Ramos, John Aldrin Calisterio, Roneth Harold Timbang, Richard Salvador, and Marco Villanueva - were rushed to the UST Hospital. The other victims - Julieta Cloma, John Michael Using, Carina Calma, Julie Valena, Bryan Ramos, Erickson Magsino, and Joseph Bernat—are being treated at the nearby Perpetual Help Hospital. All of the victims are college students, except for Bernat who is a college instructor. Superintendent Ramon Pranada, chief of the Manila Police District (MPD) station 4, said the blast occurred about 12:15 p.m. along Concepcion corner Laong Laan streets in Sampaloc district, Manila. Initial report said the victims were eating at the Dades Sizzling House when two motorcycle-riding men threw the improvised bomb. Investigators are eyeing inter-fraternity feud as the motive behind the blast, a separate report by radio dzBB's Teresa Tavares said. Police have launched a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.
